Project Lead Bridge/NAVCOM

Together we build superyachts and as Project Lead BRIDGE/NAV/COM at Royal Van Lent Shipyard you are responsible within the project team for the complete and technical part of BRIDGE and NAV/COM during the entire construction process (from contract to warranty period) of a Feadship . Think of: bridge systems, safety systems, navigation and communication. In concrete terms, this means that you are responsible for the technical BRIDGE/NAV/COM design, making technical request specifications and assessing the content of the technical and solutions of suppliers.

You work closely with the responsible managers. This includes the Casco Manager during the construction of the hull, the Engineering Manager during the engineering phase and the Outfittings Manager during the actual production phase at one of our shipyards (Kaag and Amsterdam). You yourself are part of one or more project team(s) and the substantive project owner for the electrical part of the superyacht. You are an advisor and therefore an important linking pin with the owner team and contracted suppliers. Thanks to your substantive knowledge, you can easily translate the wishes or requirements of the customer or architect into feasible solutions and monitor the more / less costs. 

In general, your time allocation will look like this:

• Managing the construction process, within your scope, from contract phase to delivery and monitoring the agreements made; 
• Coordination between all parties involved:
  • Designers 
  • Owner Representative
  • Phase managers
  • Sister companies
  • De Voogt Naval Architects
  • Subcontractors
  • Co-creators
• Drafting project and progress reports

The ideal candidate has a minimum HBO working and thinking level and has experience with BRIDGE/NAV/COM. You have knowledge of the yacht building process, knowledge of the technical components of a yacht and you have experience with project-based work. 

You are used to working together on large projects and you never lose sight of your own scope. We expect you to have an excellent command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing.
