Structural Hull Lead Engineer

As the Discipline Lead Engineer, you will lead the Structural Hull team, which includes engineers and designers. Your key responsibilities include:

• Structural Design:
  • Oversee structural design for new-build hulls and tanker conversions for FPSO projects.
  • Support Technology Development to bring new products and technology to market for FPSO and Renewable product lines.
  • Assist the vessel acquisition department in selecting donor tankers for conversion to FPSO.
  • Provide support for brownfield projects.
• Team Leadership and Management:
  • Lead and manage the Structural Hull team, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Monitor project progress, addressing any issues or challenges that arise.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members, promoting a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Design Oversight:
  • Oversee the structural design process, ensuring design integrity and quality.
  • Review and approve design calculations, drawings, and other technical documents.
• Collaboration and Coordination:
  • Interface with clients, project management, other disciplines, procurement, construction, classification bureaus, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
• Compliance and Standards:
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and classification society rules.
• Client Interaction:
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, representing the Structural Hull discipline.
• Technology and Methodology Development:
  • Support the development and implementation of new technologies and methodologies within the discipline.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience in engineering and design of floating units within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong management and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of the floating structure design process, from conceptual to construction phases.
• Extensive experience and technical expertise in structural analysis of global and local hull structures.
• Familiarity with classification society rules (e.g., ABS, DNV, BV, Lloyds).
• Knowledge of structural interfaces with related disciplines, such as mooring structure integrations, topside integrations, and other equipment integrations.
• Professional proficiency in English (verbal and written).
• Preferably, experience with ABS hull software ISE/TSA and finite element software FEMAP.
• Preferably, experience in FPSO life extension projects.
