As Buyer, you will be part of our client's Procurement Department, and you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods, materials and services. Additional challenges and responsibilities will come along the way as you grow in your role within the Company.
In your role of Buyer, you:
- Handle purchase order administration
- Together with clients, you set requirements for sourcing of materials and services
- Overview internal requisitions
- Issue RFQ and RFPs and evaluate/negotiate quotations
- Expedite purchase orders and make sure goods, documents and certificates and received on time and in line with technical specifications
- Handle invoices
- Prepare bid evaluation sheets and executive summaries
- Handle variation orders, claims and disputes
- Stay on top of the supplier market, attend sites and exhibitions when required
In your role of Buyer, you will need:
- Relevant degree in Administration, Commerce or other technical discipline, combined with at least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar industry (shipbuilding, offshore, etc.)
- Knowledge of technical standards and specifications (on project basis)
- Experience with Oracle and Microsoft Office, affinity with IT is desirable
- Strong negotiation and contracting skills
- Organizational skills, hands on-mentality and independent mindset
- Excellent knowledge of English
- Willing to travel
