Our client, a leading name in the shipbuilding industry, is seeking multiple Area Managers for separate technical fields at their shipyard in Rostock, Germany. These fields include electrical systems, technical systems, shipbuilding conservation, and outfitting. Each Area Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating one specific area, ensuring smooth workflows, adherence to project timelines, and successful project execution.

As an Area Manager, you will oversee and coordinate the work of technical teams within your assigned area, ensuring project timelines, milestones, and quality standards are achieved. You will drive process improvements and act as a key liaison between trades, supervisors, and project leaders.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate activities within technical and architectural areas, ensuring smooth workflows and timely completion;
  • Monitor milestones, schedules, and quality standards, addressing deviations with recovery plans when necessary;
  • Ensure compliance with safety, cleanliness, and organizational standards;
  • Supervise production service providers and team leaders on construction and scheduling matters;
  • Optimize cost and scheduling priorities in collaboration with project leaders;
  • Implement and drive continuous process improvements;
  • Represent your supervisor during absences and fulfill assigned entrepreneurial duties.

Functie eisen

  • A three-year technical vocational qualification with extensive professional experience in a coordinating role, or credentials as a technician or master craftsman;
  • Ideally, experience in technical and disciplinary team leadership;
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools;
  • Very good English language skills (written and spoken). German is a plus;
  • EU citizenship or a German Blue Card is required.
