Central to our client's operations is the leadership role of a Technical Superintendent alongside a committed team of over 50 professionals, operating within the structure of their Technical Department. As a Technical Superintendent, your responsibilities spans across the comprehensive network of repair and maintenance activities throughout our client's  extensive fleet, ensuring the  assurance of operational safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

Working alongside our  client in Offshore Oil and Gas, we are looking for a well-experienced Technical Superintendent who can join their team in South Holland. Candidates who are already based in the Netherlands, have existing rights to work or EU Citizens, are highly preferred for this position.

Tasks

In the role of Technical Superintendent, your key duties encompass:

  • Act as a Project Manager, overseeing repairs, modifications, and project preparations for the assets.
  • Oversee daily maintenance on vessels, coordinating with various teams as necessary.
  • Manage annual budgets for repairs and investments for assigned assets.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws from various maritime authorities, monitor asset fitness, and handle necessary actions promptly.
  • Utilize available business intelligence dashboards for data-driven decision-making.
  • Suggest and support the standardization of work methods and procedure enhancements.
  • Review and authorize purchase orders and invoices as per the assigned authority.
  • Support the yearly Technical Status reporting and Vessel Inspection Sheet preparation.
  • Plan and manage port call budgets and work scopes related to repairs, modifications, and projects.
  • Maintain an updated Repair List, including overdue maintenance and necessary modifications for projects.
  • Foster effective collaboration and communication with the vessel's crew.

Job requirements

A strong preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Currently based and  have experience working in The Netherlands; must have existing rights to work in The Netherlands.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical position within a maritime organization (Offshore Oil and Gas, Shipbuilding) is also necessary.
  • Familiarity with the guidelines and standards of classification agencies and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) is essential.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Maritime Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, is required
