In the role of Technical Subcontract Manager Combat,  you will handle the specification, coordination, and management of all technical activities for subcontracted combat systems. These systems include above-water and underwater sensors, weapons, command and control, and communication systems. Your tasks will encompass project definition, procurement, engineering, interfacing, installation, verification, and acceptance of these systems. The objective is to achieve a successful integration of various combat systems into an effective naval combat suite for the developed ships and, if necessary, related land-based facilities delivered to clients.

Tasks

  • Oversee, coordinate, and facilitate multiple subcontractors and suppliers during project preparation and execution, focusing on short and medium-term goals.
  • Ensure full compliance of Combat Systems products and services with all applicable requirements and specifications, adhering to agreed schedules, quality standards, and cost limits.
  • Take responsibility for integration activities in complex, medium-value projects and manage the associated subcontractors.
  • Organize and/or participate in project reviews.
  • Ensure the execution and synchronization of project activities related to all deliverables and obligations of the subcontractors.
  • Participate as the accepting party during contractual milestones, tests, and trials, including FAT, HAT, and SAT.
  • Assist the warranty authority with identified warranty issues.
  • Support proposal evaluations, technical evaluations, and cost/price analyses.
  • Assist, and potentially serve as, the Combat System Integrator (CSI) in defining, establishing, and validating all relevant functional and physical interfaces through testing.

Job requirements

  • Strong communication abilities and adeptness at building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in contract management, with a good grasp of legal and technical terminology.
  • Solid project management skills, with a project management certification being a plus.
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing technical subcontracts with international partners, preferably in the naval or shipbuilding industries.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with advanced combat systems, especially in shipbuilding or naval sectors.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field.
  • Excellent proficiency in English; knowledge of Dutch and/or German or a willingness to learn is desirable.
  • Exceptional references, as security screening is part of the hiring process.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are  due to the nature of the projects.
