For our client in Rotterdam area, a leading suplier propulsion systems for the maritime industry, we are looking for a motivated Senior Technical Buyer (Mechanical) who will contribute strategically, tactical and operationally to the procurement process. English-speaking candidates are warmly welcome.

Tasks

In this strategic/tactical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability of materials, raw materials, components, and services, contributing both strategically and operationally to the procurement process. English-speaking candidates are welcome; knowledge of the Dutch language is a plus.

As a Senior Technical Buyer at our client's company, you will work closely with a small team at the Krimpen aan de Lek location. You will ensure that all necessary materials and services are available on time and under the correct conditions. Additionally, you will be involved in the strategic procurement policy and work closely with the Supply Chain Manager. The work environment is internationally oriented, and proficiency in Dutch and German is preferred.

  • Monitoring market developments regarding the availability and price trends of raw materials, services, and components.
  • Selecting and evaluating suppliers in collaboration with internal customers.
  • Negotiating price, delivery time, and capacity.
  • Preparing 'make or buy' analyses for product groups.
  • Checking order confirmations and handling quality deviations.
  • Optimizing internal and external procurement and logistics processes.
  • Actively participating in the partnership with suppliers.
  • Collecting, processing, and archiving documents.

Job requirements

  • Completed Intermediate/BSc.education, preferably supplemented with NEVI 1 and 2.
  • Extensive experience in procurement, preferably in a technical environment.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement improvement programs.
  • Problem-solving ability and decisiveness.
  • Cost, quality, and result-oriented.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and/or German is a strong advantage.
