Our client, a leading global shipbuilding brand, is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer Marine Systems - Systems Architect (Interim) to lead the integration and engineering of marine systems for high-profile naval projects. Based in Vlissingen, this role emphasizes technical excellence, multi-disciplinary collaboration, and compliance with rigorous functional and technical requirements.

    Tasks

    This pivotal role involves ensuring the compliance, integrity, and delivery of marine systems engineering within naval projects, fostering collaboration across disciplines, and maintaining adherence to contracts and regulatory standards.

    You will:

    • Lead interdisciplinary design reviews and verify engineering documents.
    • Drive requirement management, ensuring technical excellence and solutions that meet project objectives.
    • Analyze and assess technical requirements for marine systems and ensure compliance with contracts and regulatory standards.
    • Manage traceability of requirements to ensure alignment with contracts.
    • Facilitate multi-disciplinary collaboration for optimal project solutions.
    • Coordinate customer and classification body reviews, addressing feedback to secure agreement on requirements.
    • Contribute to design verification and system testing, including FAT, HAT, and SAT processes.
    • Ensure project deliverables meet schedules and quality expectations through milestone meetings.
    • Expedite internal and external contributions to ensure timely delivery of engineering documentation.

     

      Job requirements

      • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
      • Minimum of 5 years of experience in shipbuilding or a related industry, with expertise in Marine Systems engineering.
      • Proven project management capabilities and strong technical background in marine systems, particularly in complex manufacturing or subcontracting environments.
      • Competencies: exceptional teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving abilities; decisive and results-oriented approach.
      • Fluency in English (written and verbal); German proficiency is highly desirable.
      • Must be a permanent EU citizen with an EU passport.
