Middle Point is always looking for Structural Engineers (hull engineers and designers, FEM specialists, outfitting) with experience in the shipbuilding who consider a change in their professional career. Tasks

The responsibilities are dependent on the clients need. Generally:

  • Development and optimization structures and structural designs of complex vessels,
  • Perform calculations and prepare drawings (scantlings, midship section etc.),
  • Some roles require performing 2D 3D modeling, 
  • Maintaining contact with class, suppliers and other external parties,
  • Some roles require leading experience.

Job requirements

The requirements are dependent on the clients need. Generally:

  • BSc or MSc in Naval Architecture or other relevant field,
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role,
  • Some roles require experience in using 2D and 3D CAD tools (e.g. Catia, Cadmatic),
  • Some roles require showing of FEM skills of complex vessels,
  • Knowledge of the applicable classification societies rules and regulations,
  • Long term commitment and willingness to grow within the company,
  • Fluent English, command of Dutch is a plus,
  • EU citizenship is a must.
