For our client a Dutch shipbuilding powerhouse located in Zeeland we are looking for a senior P&ID engineer.

You will be contributing to building the world's best ships at the Naval division of this Shipyard, which is renowned internationally for its delivery of high quality naval vessels. You will be responsible for analysing and assessing specifications, creating system design (model), as well as reviewing engineering packages and integrating systems and supplies. Next to this you are ensuring the feasibility of the design and compliance to the rules and regulations. 

You will be successful in this role when you enjoy cooperating and supporting stakeholders on technical aspects within the mechanical specialism.

Tasks

  • Set up and model the basic and detail engineering package by analysing and adhering to tech specs & requirements but also to safety & shipyard’s standards, applicable rules & regulations,
  • Execute project design reviews, performing initial opportunity & risk analyses and suggest changes where applicable/necessary,
  • Liaise with internal/external project team & stakeholders and support on technical aspects & questions related to the technical package (design, materials, supplies, etc.),
  • Report and document all activities, incl. design, process, installation, equipment, and regularly provide updates in forms of reports or analyses,
  • Identify bottlenecks in the design, process, installation and equipment, and suggest/implement improvements.

Job requirements

  • 5+ yrs. Experience in mechanical/piping engineering of complex vessels,
  • BSc/MSc degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent,
  • Expert in CAD,
  • Experience in working with statutory bodies and in ensuring quality & budget,
  • Ability to present own work to multidisciplinary teams,
  • Occasional travel for work abroad,
  • Fluent in English and (preferably) in Dutch,
  • Willing to relocate to Zeeland (southwest Netherlands) for the period of the project (ca. 18 months),
  • EU citizenship.
