Marine Systems & Piping

We are seeking a skilled Marine Systems Engineer to join our team in Schiedam. In this role, you will independently handle marine engineering responsibilities on various projects, focusing on the design and development of marine systems for FPSOs, FSOs, and Floating LNG products. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective designs in compliance with international standards and safety regulations.

 

Tasks

  • Develop conceptual and detailed marine systems designs for offshore floating units.
  • Ensure compliance with classification societies (ABS, DNV GL, BV, Lloyds) and industry regulations.
  • Work closely with Naval, E&I, Piping, HVAC, Process, Safety, and Regulatory teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Evaluate and select marine systems and equipment, balancing technological innovation with commercial feasibility.
  • Conduct engineering reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA) and risk assessments for system safety and reliability.
  • Support procurement by specifying equipment and evaluating vendor proposals.
  • Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and operation phases.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in marine systems and industry best practices.

Job requirements

  • MSc or BSc in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in marine systems engineering (Pre-FEED, FEED, and detailed design).
  • Strong understanding of marine and production systems for offshore and shipping industries.
  • Experience with FPSOs, Oil & Gas carriers, LNG carriers, and drilling units is preferred.
  • Familiarity with shipyard operations, shipboard systems, and marine equipment vendors.
  • Experience in PFD (Process Flow Diagram) and P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) development and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety, Security & Environmental (HSSE) policies.
  • Proficiency in industry review methods (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, etc.).
