For one of our energy offshore clients, a prominent service provider in the global offshore industry, specializing in top-tier floating production units and infrastructure, we are recruiting for a LEAD  / SENIOR  Naval Architect to be based in their beautiful office in Hoofddorp, The Netherlands.  

Tasks

As a Lead/ Senior Naval Architect, you play a pivotal role in steering the naval engineering aspects of projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule and within budget. Your responsibilities also include:

  • Designing and conducting hydrostatic, hydrodynamic, and structural analyses for Floating Production Storage and Offloading units (FPSOs).
  • Keep the Project Engineer updated on progress, challenges, and any technical risks, promptly addressing concerns as they arise.
  • Handle inquiries from various stakeholders—such as Site personnel, clients, certifying authorities, and subcontractors—swiftly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with a team or take the lead, guiding fellow Naval Architects and Designers.
  • Depending on project needs, you may also undertake tasks internationally or at the shipyard, bringing your expertise where it's needed most.

Job requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture or Offshore Engineering.
  • Experience: 8+ years in the offshore industry, with a focus on larger and more challenging FPSO projects.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to organize project scopes and lead a team effectively.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong experience in hydrostatic, hydrodynamic, finite element, and fatigue analysis (critical and essential for this role).
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant international design codes and Class regulations, standard for senior positions in this field.
  • Communication Skills: Proficient in English, both verbally and in writing, for effective collaboration and reporting.
