Join our client, a leading yacht engineering office in Amsterdam, responsible for designing and engineering luxurious superyachts. As a Senior FEM Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing yacht constructions using advanced Finite Element Methods (FEM).

Tasks

As a Senior FEM Engineer, you will:

  • Model and calculate longitudinal strength, vibrations, and specific construction details.
  • Provide insights into optimizing constructions through your analyses.
  • Present calculations and simulation results to your team.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously within the FEM knowledge center.
  • Share your specific knowledge with colleagues and support their development.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on progress and technical issues.
  • Contribute to stronger constructions and enhance our client's market position.
  • Report to the Team Leader Structural Engineering.

Job requirements

  • EU citizenship is required for this position
  • BSc/MSc. thinking and working level with a relevant diploma.
  • Experience as an FEM/Structural Engineer (lead engineering) in yacht building sector. 
  • Knowledge of ship structures and certification bodies (LR, DNV, BV) 
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (NX, Inventor, Solidworks).
  • Excellent knowledge of FEM for static and dynamic analyses.
  • Experience with commercial packages (Ansys, NASTRAN, Femap, RFEM).
  • Preferably programming knowledge for tool development (VBA, Python).
  • Proficiency in English; Dutch is a plus.
  • Passion for technology, collaborative, accurate, and results-oriented.

Conditions

  • Competitive salary, depending on experience and role
  • 30% tax ruling for the first five years (for positions in the Netherlands)
  • At least 25 days of paid holidays + ADV days
  • Compensation for commuting costs depending on your preferred means of transportation - own car / public transport / bike
