We are looking to recruit a Regulatory Compliance Engineer to join the Health, Safety, Environment, Quality, and Regulatory Compliance (HSEQ & RC) department.  At the core of their mission is the meticulous oversight of business processes to ensure that they are not only recorded and comprehended but also continually enhanced.

This position is based in our client’s beautiful and conveniently located office in Hoofddorp, The Netherlands.

Tasks

As Regulatory Compliance Engineer, your tasks include but are not limited to: 

  • Execute regulatory compliance tasks including recognizing and articulating regulatory compliance issues during project or operational support, offering guidance on potential solutions.
  • Facilitate communication between departments, classification societies, and international regulatory bodies, including Flag States.
  • Oversee and coordinate the regulatory compliance process, ensuring the timely submission of engineering plans and documents to regulatory agencies.
  • Supervise the review process until regulatory agencies grant final approval for engineering documents.
  • Ensure the issuance of relevant certifications by the respective authorities.
  • Track the progress of regulatory compliance activities for operations, projects, or other departments.
  • Participate in internal audits and surveys.
  • Serve as a point of contact during audits and surveys conducted by external entities, such as ISM/ISPS audits, class, and statutory surveys.

Job requirements

 

The winning formula for your application success:

  • Command a seasoned background, boasting a minimum of 3 years of practical experience in a pertinent engineering domain.
  • Exhibit proven mastery of Flag State rules, international maritime, and offshore conventions (SOLAS, MARPOL), along with classification rules – precision is the hallmark of engineering prowess.
  • Hold a distinguished Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marine Engineering or its equivalent.
  • Fluent in the language of the engineering realm: English, both in written and spoken forms. Dutch language is a definite advantage.
  • Flexibility to travel abroad (very minimal), including to offshore installations and participate in projects.
