Take on a key leadership role within one of the most innovative naval shipbuilders in Europe. With a global footprint of 12,000. Designing and constructing state-of-the-art naval vessels. As Proposals Manager ILS you will lead a dedicated team within the Proposals Department, ensuring that high-quality, compliant, and timely proposal packages are delivered. Your role is essential in professionalizing and optimizing proposal processes, collaborating closely with Engineering, R&D, Purchasing, and external stakeholders.

Tasks

  • Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and coach the ILS team to achieve optimal performance and continuous professional growth.
  • Proposal Management: Oversee and manage the delivery of high-quality proposals on time and within budget, aligning closely with customer and industry requirements.
  • Resource Allocation: Plan and allocate resources effectively, including tools and knowledge sharing, to enhance team professionalism and productivity.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate seamless cooperation between internal departments (Engineering, R&D, Purchasing) and external stakeholders during proposal development.
  • Quality Assurance: Review, validate, and ensure all ILS-related content within proposals meets rigorous quality and regulatory standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and increased efficiency.
  • Customer and Industry Engagement: Act as Damen Naval’s representative in interactions with customers and industry partners, building strong relationships and understanding market needs.
  • Knowledge Retention: Continuously enhance knowledge transfer within the department to preserve and expand organizational expertise

Job requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in ILS and proposal management, ideally within naval shipbuilding.
  • Proven track record of leading successful teams.
  • Strong proposal development and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English; proficiency in German is advantageous.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates who only have an NL/EU work visa or who hold both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible, in accordance with the security requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects. Please note that if you do not meet this requirement, we cannot proceed with your application.
