Tasks

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing new mechanical hardware and maintaining existing designs for maritime navigation systems. Key tasks include:

  • Creating CAD models with SolidWorks.
  • Maintaining documents and production data in SAP.
  • Enhancing mechanical designs to optimize performance and cost.
  • Developing test and assembly instructions for in-house production and external suppliers.
  • Acting as an interface to internal customers, including purchasing, project planning, manufacturing, customer service, and documentation.
  • Collaborating with electrical engineers for the mechanical integration of electrical components.

Job requirements

  • Completed studies in Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc., M.Sc.), ideally with a focus on Computer-Aided Design Engineering or a comparable qualification.
  • Approximately 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in the design and organization of mechanical assemblies.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards, preferably in the maritime sector (e.g., IEC).
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks.
  • Fluent in English (technical level) and German, both written and spoken.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and PDM systems such as TeamCenter is desirable.
  • Ability to read and create high-level electrical circuit diagrams (experience with E-Plan is a plus).
  • EU Citizenship or German Blue Card
