We are hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer for our client, a leader in craftsmanship across all disciplines of modern superyacht construction. With an average of two launches per year, they set the standard in the industry. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing technical systems that bring next-generation yachts to life, balancing innovative yacht design with customer needs.

Tasks

  • Development of the marine systems design for both new build & refit vessels;
  • Utilize various software to design and develop detailed 2D or 3D technical drawings, and system diagrams;  

  • Monitor the detailed design engineering of projects and define construction scope required supplies and services;  
  • Advising on equipment for modifications;
  • Collaborate with 3rd parties’ (Subcontractors, suppliers, class & flag etc.), ensuring quality, compliance and delivery of all related equipment to the mechanical department;
  • Coordinate with the different disciplines and making sure everything is line with the agreed plan. Creating specifications for the mechanical equipment.

Job requirements

  • Completed degree in the field of marine/-mechanical engineering;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the basic or detail engineering within the ship- or yacht building industry plus  one year of guiding fellow engineers in the team during the design phase;
  • Demonstrated ability to design and integrate complex mechanical systems;
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD – knowledge of Cadmatic or Siemans NX is desirable. Catia /Aveva is accepted; 
  • Good proficiency in English and a strong willingness to learn the Dutch language;
