Our client is seeking an experienced Material & Logistics Coordinator to join their team in Wismar on a project basis, with an initial contract until June 2025 and the potential for extension. In this role, you will be essential to coordinating material planning and logistics to support the efficient production of a major cruise ship project.

Tasks

As a Material & Logistics Coordinator, you will oversee and optimize supply chain processes and material logistics specifically for this cruise ship project. You’ll work closely with production planning, project management, and other departments to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating material packages based on bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Managing drawings and production documentation.
  • Preparing and providing manufacturing documents (internal/external) using CAD/CAM and PDM systems.
  • Coordinating work packages and orders in collaboration with assembly planning.
  • Handling material requisitions and planning (material call-offs).
  • Conducting pre- and post-calculations of plan values (quantities, time allowances).
  • Recording and reporting production disruptions and forwarding them to the responsible departments.
  • Tracking deadlines for work package components (supplied parts, materials, tools).
  • Generating reports and evaluations within your scope of responsibility.
  • Defining complex technological specifications for manufacturing.
  • Working on advanced areas, such as collision checks, installation sequences, and handling unique assembly circumstances.
  • Mentoring apprentices and interns within the department.

Job requirements

  • A minimum of three years of technical vocational training.
  • Several years of professional experience in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong team and communication skills.
  • EU citizenship or possession of a German Blue Card.
  • High level of commitment, flexibility, and resilience.
