On behalf of our client, a leading cruise group, we are recruiting an LNG Technical Assurance Manager for their marine operations division. In this role, you will contribute to their sustainability goals by pioneering LNG adoption, positioning yourself as a key player in driving innovation and setting new standards for eco-friendly practices in the maritime sector.

Tasks

  • Drive the integration of LNG within the company  by applying a risk-focused approach, playing a pivotal role in creating and maintaining operational and safety guidelines.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of procedures for LNG-powered vessels, working closely with stakeholders.
  • Foster relationships with organizations such as manufacturers, and industry leaders to ensure that best practices are established, shared, and consistently updated.
  • Offer expert advice to operational teams on in-service performance, maintenance planning, including unexpected repairs, inspections, and dry docking. Provide specialized support during incidents or emergencies and collaborate with newbuild teams to optimize shipyard LNG designs, address risks in current designs, and shape future platform specifications.
  • Partner with marine operations and the corporate technical team to develop training materials, contributing specialized insights to ensure crew preparedness.
  • Serve as an expert advisor during LNG-related emergency response drills and real-time situations. Support and mentor crew members while assessing their competency to handle LNG operations effectively.

Job requirements

  • Extensive onboard experience, ideally spanning at least 10 years, with a preference for work on cruise ships and expertise in LNG carriers.
  • Proficiency in LNG systems, including cargo handling, fuel systems, engines, and marine operations.
  • Strong foundation in health, safety, and environmental standards, coupled with advanced risk management skills and the ability to act as a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Certification as a Master Mariner, Chief Officer, Chief Engineer, or Refrigeration Engineer; a Management Level Certificate of Competency (COC) Class 1 is advantageous.
  • Business-level proficiency in English, as it is the official company language.
  • In-depth knowledge of LNG engine design, operational procedures, and maintenance practices.
