We are excited to partner with our client who designs and manufactures Air Conditioning Systems for cruise liners, passenger vessels, and specialized vessels to recruit for a Project Engineer with BASIC design background within their Concepts and Calculations team.

Based in Hamburg, Germany, you will be assigned to and assist complex and challenging vessel projects - new builds and refits.

Tasks

As a Project Engineer, your responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Calculation and creation of transmission calculations for system design
  • Development and creation of ventilation concepts
  • Creation of 2D overview drawings
  • complex calculation and design of systems and components of the air conditioning system
  • Cost & schedule determination of supplier and customer inquiries in coordination with the project management
  • Preparation of tender documents and execution of technical & commercial comparisons
  • Coordination of the HVAC system with suppliers, customers as well as assembly and commissioning
  • Technical & scheduling control of the tasks in the respective project as well as supervision of the constructive implementation with the project team
  • Continuous deadline tracking of subcontractors and suppliers involved in the project
  • Negotiation and technical coordination of the individual components in cooperation with purchasing
  • Management and implementation of the approval process of documents with the classification societies and authorities
  • New development of components and components together with R&D and suppliers
  • Creation of cross-project concepts in the field of R&D and S&D
  • Management of complex projects
  • Professional support of our own designers and external designers
  • Supervision of trainees and interns

Job requirements

To be considered for the role, you must have:

  • Completed studies in the field of engineering sciences
  • Business fluent English spoken and written, German a big plus. 
  • Basic CAD knowledge (NOVA, AutoCAD, CATIA, etc.)
  • flexible and willing to travel
  • Experience in the field of air conditioning ventilation in the maritime industry
  • Planning and structured work
  • Very good communication and team skills
  • High degree of customer and service orientation
  • Very good analytical and conceptual skills
