We are working alongside our client to recruit for a Technical Inspector with ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION (E & I) background to efficiently manage the maintenance, repair and modifications of all vessels, yards and equipment, efficiently and sustainably.  You will be part of the technical team assigned with the daily management of the repair and maintenance of the vessels. This includes project management of investment projects, dockings and project modifications.

Tasks

As as Electrical and Instrumentation Technical Inspector, your main responsibilities include:

  • Assist Vessel Management Teams in the daily technical management of designated equipment.
  • Collaborate with and aid the crew in their day-to-day tasks.
  • Coordinate with departments regarding the scope of work.
  • Specify the Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) scope of work and propose maintenance and repair suggestions (R&M proposals).
  • Develop schedules and budgets and seek approval for them.
  • Identify the need for third-party service engineers, obtain approval, and arrange their visits onboard.
  • Oversee the engineering, installation, and commissioning of new or modified E&I equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with flag state legislation, classification society, and International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards.
  • Advocate for the implementation of new technologies to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness, and support improvement projects.
  • Plan and participate in Dynamic Positioning (DP) annual and periodic trials for the designated assets.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and history related to the vessel and equipment.

Job requirements

A strong preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Currently based and  have experience working in The Netherlands; must have existing rights to work in The Netherlands.
  • BSc/MSc degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of pertinent experience within the offshore, dredging, construction, or shipbuilding sector.
  • Proficiency in the rules and regulations of classification agencies and the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and spoken.
