We're collaborating with a global client whose expertise focuses on the concept and design, development  and construction of various mobile offshore equipment and systems (vessels, jack-ups, custom-build cranes), to find an Electrical Engineer with POWER SYSTEMS background to join their equipment division that focuses on electrical systems and control hydraulics.

 

Tasks

As an Electrical Engineer (Power Systems), you'll utilize your technical knowledge and professional experience to support the delivery of products to our client's customers. Working under the guidance of technical project management, you'll be responsible for providing technical solutions and detailed product design throughout every phase of a project's lifecycle, from initial proposals to completion, including on-site installation and commissioning.

As  Electrical Engineer (Power Systems), you will:

  • Design, engineer, and coordinate systems, equipment and packages.
  • Act in line with rules and regulations, class, standard, and procedures.
  • Review and coordinate third party documentation.
  • Define and maintain the interfaces of the assigned work scope.
  • Ensure that deliverables are in line with system requirements.
  • Participate to design review meetings.
  • Attend to FAT’s for switchgear, motor control centers etc.
  • Optimise the drive train system components (Transformers, filters, rectifiers, inverters, motors)
  • Advise on cable routing to mechanical routing engineers.

Job requirements

As Electrical Engineer, you are:

  • Skilled in the design, engineering, and set up of AC and /or DC distribution systems
  • Able to design, engineer, specify and set up of electrical equipment and electrical systems
  • Having an experience with power drive trains, preferably for lifting appliances such as cranes or winches
  • Able to interface management for secondary systems (HVAC, AOL, sliprings etc)
  • Experience with ETAP/SKM Powertools or Matlab Simpowersystems would be preferred. 

In addition, you possess:

  • 5 - 10 yrs. experience a, able to design parts of the E&I system and select the right components 
  • Relevant degree from a reputable university 
  • A commercial eye, combined with attention to detail.
