Tasks

As an Automation Engineer in yacht building, you play a crucial role in translating functional specifications into logical diagrams of electrical installations on board mega yachts.

In this challenging role, you will:

 

  • Collaborate closely with Automation Engineers and cross-functional colleagues in Schiedam.
  • Form new assignments and engage in concept design discussions with clients.
  • Develop detailed designs in code for various projects.
  • Provide support during commissioning and service phases.
  • Work independently on smaller projects.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary teams on larger projects.

Job requirements

To thrive as an Automation Engineer, you are a creative problem solver with strong communication skills in English (Dutch is a strong plus).

Key qualifications include:

  • Relevant education in Industrial Automation or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of PLC and SCADA application experience, preferably in the industrial or maritime sector.
  • PLC experience (Wago, Allan Bradley)
  • Familiarity with interface protocols (Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet), network structures, and Windows.
  • Experience with standards and regulations, including those of classification bureaus (e.g. Lloyds).
