Marine Systems & Piping

As a skilled and motivated Marine Systems Engineer you will be responsible for independently executing marine engineering tasks across a variety of projects, with a strong focus on the design and development of marine systems for FPSOs, FSOs, and Floating LNG units. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions that meet international standards and safety regulations.

 

Tasks

  • Design both conceptual and detailed marine systems for offshore floating structures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant classification societies (ABS, DNV GL, BV, Lloyd’s) and industry regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with Naval Architecture, E&I, Piping, HVAC, Process, Safety, and Regulatory teams to ensure system integration.
  • Evaluate and select marine systems and equipment, considering both innovation and commercial feasibility.
  • Participate in engineering safety reviews, including HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and LOPA assessments.
  • Support the procurement process through specification writing and technical evaluation of vendor proposals.
  • Provide technical assistance during construction, commissioning, and operational phases.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends and advancements in marine systems engineering.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in marine systems engineering, including Pre-FEED, FEED, and detailed design phases.
  • Solid understanding of marine and production systems within the offshore and shipping industries.
  • Experienced with FPSOs, LNG carriers, Oil & Gas carriers, or offshore drilling units.
  • Familiar with shipyard processes, shipboard systems, and marine equipment suppliers.
  • Skilled in interpreting and developing PFDs and P&IDs. Strong knowledge of HSSE policies and practices.
  • Proficient in conducting and contributing to industry-standard safety reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA).
