Our renowned client in Hamburg, a leading player in the international shipbuilding industry, is looking for an experienced part-time (24-32 hours) employee. 

Your main task will be to support managers in HR matters, implement HR policies according to German law and oversee the onboarding process of new employees. The position requires business travel to Vlissingen and Kiel.

Tasks

  • Advise and support managers in human resources matters for employee retention, including career development, training initiatives and recruitment of new employees;
  • Formulating and implementing HR policies in accordance with German laws and organizational guidelines;
  • Ensure compliance with national and international labor laws and data protection regulations and assist in the relocation of expatriates to Germany;
  • Overseeing the onboarding process and ensuring a smooth induction of new employees;
  • Promote performance management practices for talent development and succession planning;
  • Overseeing HR administration, particularly the management of temporary staff, and ensuring compliance with German laws;
  • Maintain an accurate human resources database;
  • Contribute to process improvement and promote knowledge transfer within the team.

Job requirements

  • You have a Bachelor's degree/completed apprenticeship in the relevant field and at least two years of professional experience with demonstrable experience in dealing with German labor law and other HR-related regulations;
  • Previous experience within a large corporate setting in the manufacturing sector (construction, shipbuilding) as well as with working in a challenging technical project environment is adventageous;
  • Proficiency in English and German in both written and spoken;
  • Willingness to travel regularly to Kiel and Vlissingen for short work assignments; 
  • Due to a standard pre-employment security check as part of the recruitment process, strong professional references are required;
  • Permanent EU citizenship in conjunction with an EU work visa is mandatory for our personnel due to the nature of the military projects.
