Tasks

You will handle a wide range of tasks, as a CFD Specialist, you will contribute significantly to the design, basic engineering, and all necessary calculations for custom-built superyachts at our client a Naval Architects design studio. Your tasks include:

  • Conducting resistance and propulsion analyses
  • Performing sloshing simulations
  • Analyzing wind climate conditions
  • Optimizing hull shapes and appendages
  • Conducting wakefield analysis and optimization
  • Performing propeller simulation and analysis
  • Analyzing sloshing in pools, jacuzzis, and hydrogen tanks
  • Simulating and analyzing wind climate and exhaust emissions
  • Conducting helicopter landing analysis
  • Analyzing thermal exchange for ventilation, air conditioning, cooling, and heating
  • Enhancing onboard comfort levels
  • Supporting specific R&D projects using CFD

Job requirements

  • Relevant MSc or PhD degree in a related field
  • At least 4 years of experience in shipbuilding or yacht building (preferred)
  • Proven experience with CFD simulations and software, preferably Star-CCM+ or FINETM/Marine
  • Excellent technical command of English (required) and Dutch (preferred)
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling software such as NX is a plus
  • Strong social, communication, and networking skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and communicate clearly
  • High degree of independence, proactive attitude, and analytical thinking
