Product Engineer WTB

Before we can start building the superyacht, a lot of technical input is required for the design, specifications, maker's list, cost price, planning and risk list. You provide this technical contribution for your part and are involved in the project from A to Z. This means that your initial input is already processed before the superyacht contract is signed and you remain involved throughout the entire engineering phase of the project. 

In this position you are responsible for the product engineering of the WTB of our superyachts. Each superyacht is unique and is custom designed and elaborated in detail according to specific wishes for the select international clientele. Characteristic is the exceptionally high level of finish, with perfection down to the smallest details.

From the beginning of the building process you are involved in the technical part of selecting, implementing these parts. You advise purchasing, work together with the Lead Engineers of the disciplines involved and ensure that everything runs smoothly on a project basis. You process these norms and standards and take them with you for the next project. 

Your duties include: 

• Implementing the results of project evaluations, process evaluations and supplier evaluations in the design, specifications, cost price and planning of new projects is part of this.
• You are involved in drawing up and recording the engineering and production site norms and standards; 
• Proactively looking for cost savings at the same product quality with new technical developments and/or new suppliers;
• The independent execution of project transcending sub-projects in support of the Manager Engineering and the Proposal Engineer 
• Independent preparation of technical specifications for purchasing. 
• Product Management employees supervise multidisciplinary technical processes, such as hybrid installations, custom swimming pools, complex glass processes, overarching supervision of classification and regulations.

Your main responsibilities are:

• Implementing the results of the project, process and supplier evaluations in the design, specifications, costing and planning of new projects;
• Providing (technical) specifications for requests and orders together with the Lead Engineers;
• Executing project transcending projects for technical developments or more efficient construction methods;
• Assisting Project Management and the Proposal Engineer in the contract phase and the preliminary phase of new projects; 
• Supervising multidisciplinary construction number-related sub-projects.

• You have extensive experience in the field of project, process and supplier evaluation and the assurance thereof. 
• You have completed training in Shipbuilding or Mechanical Engineering and preferably industry experience in shipbuilding or yacht building.
• You have a minimum HBO working and thinking level.
• Knowledge of the yacht equipment of a superyacht is an advantage.
• You are a strong communicator, you ensure that your colleagues are well informed about the technical specifications and their developments.
• You have great empathy and can easily advise, motivate and anticipate across disciplines. 
• Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding building seaworthy yachts.
• Excellent command of the Dutch and English language in both word and writing.
