An exciting opportunity for one of the most respected names in the Dutch Maritime industry has opened up!  This is suitable for someone who's a true business developer and  has an entrepreneurial mindset with local and international reach in the sector.  At the same time, you  must have a sound technical & operational understanding of dredging vessels and integrated systems and its business environment.  

You will assist our customers in implementing changes and enhancements to integrated equipment, systems, and structures, guaranteeing that vessels remain operationally ready throughout their life cycles. This encompasses engineering modifications, renovations, and upgrades to various systems and equipment.  

For all the projects our client secure, you will serve as the primary commercial contact for the customer, collaborating closely with the project manager to ensure the success of each engagement.

 

Aufgaben

As a stand-alone position, your involvement begins at the initial stages, where you identify opportunities to enhance asset performance and readiness with both existing and potential customers. You will convert these opportunities into engineering assignments and projects to implement the proposed solutions. During this process, you'll coordinate the necessary teamwork, including managing proposals, defining solutions, and estimating costs.

As a business developer your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with both existing and prospective customers at senior business and technical levels internationally
  • Developing a pipeline of leads and opportunities
  • Achieving and delivering on the company's sales targets
  • Coordinating the process and team from lead generation through to contract execution and after-sales support (including hardware).
  • Collaborating with the department engineering manager to ensure a responsive sales process and effective qualification and prioritization of resources.
  • Enhancing  the business visibility on social media platforms.

Anforderungen

To be considered for the Business Development Manager position, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • Business level skill in Dutch (mandatory) and English
  • At least  7 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the industry 
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical or business field, such as Business Science or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven success in complex sales and consistently meeting performance targets.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial, and adaptable mindset.
  • Excellent English communication skills; knowledge of Dutch is a plus but not required.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (approx 20%)
