We are excited to support our client in finding exceptional BASIC Ship Design Engineers and Systems Engineers across disciplines as they embark on a groundbreaking shipbuilding project—designing the world’s largest and most advanced polar research icebreaker. This state-of-the-art vessel will push the boundaries of icebreaking technology, sustainability, and scientific exploration

Are you a well experienced HVAC Systems Engineer in shipbuilding who's excited to be part of something big? Join their team in Wismar who covers the  basic design, detailed design, construction support, and commissioning supervision for this one-of-a-kind project.  

 

Aufgaben

As HVAC Systems Engineer,  your involvement includes design (concept an basic), development, and following the integration of HVAC systems in the vessel.  You will work in an international, multidisciplinary environment, contributing to state-of-the-art ship design and engineering solutions

  • Lead the Concept and Basic design and engineering of HVAC systems for marine vessels, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations and industry standards.

  • Oversee the basic and detail design phases, and provide support during construction and commissioning 

  • Conduct heat load calculations, airflow analysis, and system optimization for energy efficiency and environmental performance.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including machinery, structural, electrical, and automation engineers to ensure seamless system integration.

  • Provide technical guidance, review design documentation, and ensure quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Interface with clients, classification societies, and other stakeholders to align HVAC system requirements with project specifications.

 

Anforderungen

 

  • A Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in mechanical engineering, marine engineering, or a related field (mandatory in Germany).

  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC system design for ships or offshore structures.

  • Strong understanding of marine classification rules and regulations related to HVAC.

  • Proficiency in HVAC design tools and software (Cadmatic)

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced international project environment.

  • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken); German a great plus!
