Exterior Engineer - Yacht Building

As an Exterior Engineer, you will be responsible for designing various components of the yacht's exterior. You will work on extensive projects alongside colleagues from different fields such as Exterior, Interior, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, and Naval Architecture to ensure  flawless end result - a globally recognizable yacht building brand. 

Your expertise in modern 3D CAD systems will be essential for developing designs and managing all relevant information and specifications. Furthermore, you will maintain close collaboration and communication with our design team and, at times, with external yacht designers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Independently design, sketch, and develop exterior components of the yacht, such as furniture, staircases, pools, sliding doors, and helicopter decks.
• Create innovative solutions to integrate complex components, even when not all information is available or finalized.
• Focus  on guest safety and comfort, as well as compliance with regulations for access doors and ventilation openings.
• Maintain a balance between the big picture and intricate details, considering manufacturability from a technical design perspective, and generating multiple solutions for complex challenges.
• Following and documenting methods and procedures will be beneficial, and your flexibility will be valuable as changes frequently arise during the engineering process.

Within the project team, you'll maintain continuous communication with the Project Engineer to exchange information and discuss the exterior design. Together, you will report progress to the Project Manager Design. Hierarchically, you will report to the Team Leader Exterior, Interior & Mechanical Engineering.

• Fluency in Dutch (highly preferred) and English; Must have existing legal rights to work in The Netherlands such as EU Nationals; locally-based candidates will be given priority. 
• A relevant degree (e.g., Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture) and HBO-level education
• 1-4 years of experience in yacht or shipbuilding
• Strong technical skills combined with an eye for form and style
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and drafting software (NX is a plus)
• Ability to work independently, methodically, and with precision, alongside excellent communication skills
• Proactive approach with a focus on quality and results
