Senior Instrumentation Engineer - Control Valves

As a Senior Instrument Valve Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Define, develop, and refine valve engineering concepts from FEED to detailed design phases.
• Prepare valve specifications based on technical standards and project requirements.
• Act as Package Engineer for valve packages, supporting Supply Chain in bid evaluations.
• Guide and mentor junior engineers in the Schiedam office and other locations.
• Review vendor documents, participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and assist inspectors.
• Ensure valve selection meets Regulatory, Classification, and Client Requirements.
• Provide technical input to internal standards and qualification of new valve vendors.

• Bachelor’s degree (HBO/WO) in Engineering (localized education system match).
• 8+ years of experience in Instrumentation Valve Engineering in the upstream Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of API 6A & 6D standards, ISO actuator requirements, and ASME BPVC for pressure relief devices.
• Experience with control valve calculations, preferably using CONVAL.
• Competency in SmartPlant Instrumentation; experience with Aveva Engineering is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Fluent in English (verbal & written); Dutch is a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for project needs.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment.
